The Baltimore Ravens have a few very important weeks ahead of them.

With NFL free agency set to begin on March 15th, the Ravens need to do something with quarterback Lamar Jackson.

Jackson is currently without a contract and Baltimore should be looking to extend him long-term.

But, is it a certainty that the Ravens want to bring Jackson back?

The Ravens fired offensive coordinator Greg Roman after the season and spent ample time looking for a new OC.

It would make sense that the Ravens would ask Jackson what candidates he liked for the position.

But the Ravens reportedly did not do that.

It seems odd that Jackson had no input toward the coach he will be working closest with.

But, that might be because there is some bad blood between the quarterback and the Ravens.

Jackson has made it clear he is looking for a massive deal, larger than the one the Cleveland Browns gave Deshaun Watson.

But, the Ravens have been hesitant to commit to $200+ million in guaranteed money.

If the two sides can not come to a deal soon, it remains possible the Ravens will franchise tag Jackson.

But, no player ever wants to play under a one-year contract.

Especially someone like Jackson who has been injured each of the last two years.

He will be looking for long-term security either in Baltimore or elsewhere.

It will be interesting to see how the negotiations go as free agency nears.
