  1. "Think Pink"….that shows a spirit. What an amazing story and told so well. Not all who visit here are conventional and meant to stay long. They shine their light for a short time but boy can they leave a flame of impact. She left part of herself in you. Energy doesn't die.

  2. I didn't watch the movie for a long time. It became my favorite movie when I finally did. It is such a beautiful love story . I had no idea how hard they fought for the first amendment right. It wasn't about the porn as much as it was about the right to free speech. Amazing story.

  3. I'm here because of the movie, regardless of who played her the love between Althea and Larry shown in the movie and how extremely cool she must have been makes me want to know about the real her!
I would have been all over her zine! I'm (still )a punk and I used to be a dancer too, I love Althea's style, very classy. I also had a horsey style mohawk and a suicide chain, lol.
Superficially at least we have some things in common, I would have loved to have met her and talk about bands or something.
I'm so sorry for your loss, you made a wonderful tribute to her here.

  4. I agree with Edward Norton's speech in The People Vs Larry Flynt. Much respect for ur aunt and uncle. I'm no prude but I'm a supporter of freedom and respecting people's rights to have opinions and exist.

  5. I am very sorry for your losses. I love that she got you into creating music, that is so special that she believed in you! It is wonderful that you are sharing such personal stories. I am glad you learned from her mistakes, sadly a lot of people don’t.

  6. Thank you for sharing such a personal story ! Your Aunt sounds like a really Awesome person ! Your love for her really shows ! Ps. I still have my Jane Child album ! Have a great day brother ! 🀘πŸ”₯🀘, R O R H !

  7. I'll never forget watching "The People vs Larry Flynt" with you at your first apartment prior to the theatrical release.
Nor will I ever forget your reaction when Althea's death was portrayed.

  8. As talent coordinator for LFP 1978-1980 Larry was recovering from shooting I became Altheas rebel sidekick & personal friend and secret keeper for a few years..We had a blast partying at her Coldwater Canyon house..hanging with Rockstars at the Rainbow hiding out at my place from body guards & sister Marsha..We wrote songs together…watched a lot of cartoons middle of the night…She was beautiful…stubborn…loved to play dress up ..I did her make up & more..
I also was not happy with her portrayal in that movie..so I was glad to see her nephew set record straight! I loved her strength..intelligence and personality!
She like Me loved our Privacy! Our secrets and Details of Our great adventures and times together remain nobody's business & will leave the earth with me!!! I will end this with the Title of one of Our Songs….

  9. I am sorry you lost your beautiful aunt. She surely was a real lady and an awesome person. I wanted to know more about her and you've said all I need to know. Glad I discovered your music, too! You are truly talented! New fan here! Hugs Xoxoxox

  10. I remember rip… that was one of my faves back in the day. I had no idea it was the brain child of althea flint! Amazing lady – and sounds like she really wanted you to have those opportunities she did not have, growing up. You're very lucky to have been gifted to experience a unique life with unique folk.
